Adam Niekras
I’ll let my inner-Gemini speak and say that I love opposites and juxtapose. I love balance and asymmetry. Mixed with nature, and geometry with a side of “What the F is that?!” My art (and brand) is my way of expressing vulnerability and healing. I often express or meditate on difficult subjects through my work. Most importantly, through my recent efforts I’ve learned to appreciate time.. Woodblocks force me to slow down and express discipline in what feels like a chaotic era.. Mistakes are irreversible and planning is ever-important in reduction processes. Conversely, printmaking is made accessible through repetition.
Adam’s career was cut short for medical reasons. A serial-artist from childhood, this community became the ‘heart-driven’ choice to a new profession. He is taking advantage of this intersection of opportunity, passion, and wisdom as a proud member of Next Gallery. His style is heavily influenced by travel, recovery, watercolor, japanese arts, trauma, architecture, politics, and street writing.
