Elizabeth Truskin

Elizabeth Truskin is an artist who grew up and works out of Denver, CO.  She was a high school teacher for the last decade before transitioning her passion for intersectional feminism and queer rights into her artwork. Truskin dedicated her time in education to supporting girls, students of color, and LGBTQ students, starting one of the nation’s first high-school Gender Studies programs. She uses this perspective when creating paintings and drawings focused on pop culture and evolving representations of women.

Truskin would often use and create artwork with her students and has always been drawn to the creative process and the power of art to inspire and transform. Her acrylic paintings, watercolors, and mixed-media work are full of bright colors and bold images that reflect the joy and beauty in the world, as well as aim to be a tool for social change and empowerment.
