Member Gallery Expectations

On average, every 6 weeks we switch over the work in the Members Gallery, which is the center section of the gallery that splits the two artists’ solo spaces.  The Member Gallery Coordinator, will announce when the Community Gallery space switches out.  Refer to the calendar for themes or guest artists.

If the artists showing would like to move the member gallery to a different location, change the layout, or paint the walls a different color from the traditional white, they are required to communicate this to the gallery membership at least 6 weeks before the opening of the show. This is to ensure that participating artists have all the information they need before submitting their work.

Displaying work in the Member Gallery is optional, but of great benefit to you and Next Gallery. Please submit up to two pieces of art. One piece is guaranteed acceptance, the second may be hung or held in reserve to fill in for sold work.  It is expected that your work should be left in the gallery clearly labeled, with appropriate hanging hardware and quality framing by Sunday night of the hanging week.  Artists cards can be found at the front desk. Fill out the name of the artist, medium, title, and price on the card to be hung with your piece.  If you drop off your work before the closing of business on the Sunday of the hanging week it should be placed in the art closet.  If your work is not dropped off by Monday it will not be included.

Size requirements are 24x30 or under. Please use quality framing and hardware. Remember to keep your artwork fresh, but if you have existing work that fits the theme of the show that is also acceptable. We encourage you to see this as an opportunity to try something different and get response to new ideas.  We are NEXT gallery after all, we want to always be working on the NEXT thing.
